Mr. BONA Sonarith
Secretariat of the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB) with rank of Director
Mr. BONA Sonarith serves as a Secretariat Member of the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB)
under the distinguished leadership of
H.E. Prof. Bundit Sapheacha Dr. SOK Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions (Multilateral Trade and Economic Affairs),
and H.E. NORN Samnangseymony, Chief of the TPAB Secretariat and Chief of Cabinet of the Senior Minister. In this capacity, he contributes to shaping trade policy discussions, supporting multilateral economic initiatives, analyzing trade applications, and upholding the integrity of the organization.
In mid-2023, Mr. Sonarith joined the ASEAN Youth Advocates Network (AYAN) Cambodia as a Member of the External Affairs Committee, where he oversees public relations and marketing efforts, fostering regional youth engagement and advocacy. In early 2024, he joined the Office of the Council of Ministers (OCM) as an intern, assisting in enhancing the national and international Cooperation and reputation of the TPAB Secretariat. Prior to this, in early 2025, Mr. Sonarith was appointed by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, as a Secretariat Member of TPAB with the rank of Director. alongside this appointment, he was entrusted with multiple responsibilities within the TPAB Secretariat, serving as a Policy Officer, Media & Technology Officer, and Administrative Officer.
He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Law at the Royal University of Law and Economics. In late 2024, he earned a degree in Business Management from the same institution. His expertise spans trade policy analysis, economic diplomacy, digital communications, and organizational management. Moreover, he is also actively engaged in community development, delivering insights on digital literacy, financial management, and professional ethics, empowering individuals with essential skills for personal and professional growth.
Mr. Sonarith envisions a stronger and more resilient Cambodian economy, with a focus on driving internal growth through three key areas: industrializing agriculture by enhancing value-added production, promoting and preserving tourism by leveraging Cambodia’s rich cultural and natural heritage to attract sustainable visitors, and developing commercial infrastructure by expanding transportation networks, logistics, and digital systems to support trade and economic activities. Through these strategic priorities, he aims to foster sustainable development, create employment opportunities, and boost Cambodia’s global competitiveness.
