On October 28, 2024, H.E. Prof. Bundit Sapheacha Dr. SOK Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions, Chairman of the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB), was invited to deliver a Keynote Address on “Forces Multipolarity and Impact on ASEAN Unity” at the 39th ASEAN Roundtable, organised by the ISEAS Yusof Ishak Institute.
In his address, Dr. SOK emphasized the trends of global and regional developments that are posed to undermine ASEAN’s unity and centrality as well as offered perspectives on how ASEAN could stay relevant in an emerging multipolar world. With the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) in place, he felt that ASEAN is well-positioned to achieve greater economic prosperity in the larger region.
