Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — On November 24, 2025, Senior Minister SOK Siphana, as the High Representative of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led a Cambodian delegation to join the Global Industry Summit 2025: 21st Session of the UNIDO General Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. At the Summit, he participated as a Panelist at the High-Level Panel Discussion on “Reshaping Global Value Chains: Investment Pathways for a New Trade Era” as part of the Investment and Partnership Day under the theme of “The Future of Industrialization – AI as a Gamechanger.”

The Panel Discussion examines how developing countries can adapt to rapid shifts in global trade, geopolitics, and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). Dr. SOK underscored that small states like Cambodia advocated for a strong multilateralism and a rules-based order as the basis for an equitable participation in global value chains. He leveraged the event to raise the concerns over Thailand’s unilateral border closure, impacting bilateral trade, as well as disrupting regional supply chains.
