On 15 January 2026, H.E. Prof. Bundit Sapheacha Dr. Sok Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions (Multilateral Trade and Economic Affairs), Chairman of the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB), and Chairman of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CP-TPP) Study Working Group, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry of the Republic of Singapore.
During the meeting, the two ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to a rules-based multilateral trading system and underscored the importance of regional economic integration in promoting sustainable and inclusive growth. They exchanged views on further enhancing the bilateral economic relations between Cambodia and Singapore, particularly in light of Cambodia’s forthcoming graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status.
The discussion also touched upon emerging challenges and opportunities related to climate change, including the role of trade and investment in supporting green growth, resilience, and the transition toward more sustainable economic models.
Deputy Prime Minister Gan welcomed Cambodia’s interest in joining the CP-TPP, noting the agreement’s potential to strengthen Cambodia’s integration into regional and global value chains, expand market access, attract high-quality investment, and support long-term, sustainable development.
