WHAT WE DO?
The Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB) is a coordinating body to provide expert advice on the formulation and implementation of trade policies issued by the Royal Government of Cambodia, to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of these policies, particularly by driving export increase to key markets and potential trading partners and by strengthening domestic production capacity based on specific market preferences.

TPAB’s scope of work
Provide advice on the assessment of analysis of Cambodia’s trade policies and trade agreements with key insights for the Head of the Government.
Conduct study and research on the potential export markets, connect with key trading partners, while also identify priority goods and services for Cambodia.
Monitor the geopolitical dynamics, the rapid evolution of the regional and global trade environment with the analysis and recommendation to tackle the impact to Cambodia’s economy.
Provide policy recommendation through the assessment of the impact of the existing free trade agreements.
Evaluate and strengthen the domestic industrial capacities to produce priority goods for export in accordance with each market requirements.
Perform other duties as directed by the Head of the Royal Government.
Contribution to the Implementation of the Pentagonal Strategy Phase I
TPAB has been performing its roles as a coordinating body to provide expert advice in order to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the Kingdom's trade policies, which supports the implementation of the Pentagonal Strategy Phase I, through the followings :
Providing policy recommendations and preparing aide memoires for Samdech Thipadei for his official foreign visits, including to date Australia, the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Singapore.
Formulating strategies for the development of agro-industrial sectors in order to support the processing of commercial crops and their supply chains, specifically on cashew and rubber. Similar works on other crops will follow in due time.
Monitoring geopolitical dynamics and the implications of regional and global economic and trade policies of major powers on the Cambodian economy.
Providing advice on market access under various bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements and potential new trading partners which Cambodia should pursue, as well as undertaking analysis of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CP-TPP).
