Intervention | 2nd Meeting of the 11th Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT)

On 27 April 2026, H.E. Prof. Bundit Sapheacha Dr. SOK Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions and Special Envoy of the the Prime Minister to the United Nations and Other States, delivered a statement at the 2nd Meeting of the 11th Review Conference of the Treaty of Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, at the United Nations Headquarter, New York City. The session was accompanied by His Excellency Ambassador KEO Chhea, Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the United Nations and the representatives of the National Authority of Chemical Weapons, Nuclear, Biological and Radioactive, and the Mission’s officials.

During his intervention, Dr. SOK reaffirms the imperative of the NPT which must remain the cornerstone of global efforts toward nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation, and the peaceful use of nuclear energy. Dr. SOK also highly appreciated the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for promoting nuclear science and technology for sustainable development and technical cooperation to developing countries.
