Mr. BOREY Koemseang
Member of the Secretariat of the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB) with the rank of Director

He is a fellow at the Ponlok Chomnes Research Fellowship Program 2024, Center for Khmer Studies, under the subject “Academic Research in Social Sciences and Humanities.” He is also pursuing an International Master of Arts in Social Science with a specialization in Development Studies at Chiang Mai University in 2022, under the thesis “National Agricultural Extension Policy and Programs in Poverty Reduction Among Farmers in S’ang District, Kandal Province, Cambodia.” Recently, he participated in a training course on “Seminar on Agricultural Products and Food Security Management under the Global Development Initiative” hosted in Hunan province, followed by a field trip to Guang Dong province, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of P.R. China.

He had experience working as a Survey Assistant with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Survey team for the “Data Collection Survey on Irrigation and Flood Protection” in the Kingdom of Cambodia. His duties included interpreting and assisting the team between Japanese and Cambodian stakeholders. Moreover, he worked part-time with local and international organizations focusing on community and agriculture development to improve the livelihood of indigenous people in the mountainous areas of Northern Vietnam and Thailand.

The domestic and international social activities and academic research roles have had a strong impact on his achievements. He has been accepted as a staff organizer of the “7th International Conference on International Relations and Development” in Thailand in 2022. In the same year, he participated as a member of the Urban-Rural Sustainability Action Proposal Competition in 2022-2023 in Thailand. During his undergraduate study, in 2019, he was nominated to participate in an Exchange Program at the Bachelor of Arts Program in Entrepreneurial Economics, Faculty of Economics, Kasetsart University in Bangkok. Additionally, he participated in scientific research with the Vietnamese student team to conduct research in agricultural activities in Vietnam. During the 2016-2017 school year, he represented Cambodian students at Friendship School T80 in Hanoi, where he led events, facilitated cultural exchanges between Cambodians and foreigners, and managed tasks related to student life.
