On November 24, 2025, H.E. Prof. Bundit Sapheacha Dr. SOK Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions (Multilateral Trade and Economic Affairs) and High Representative of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, was invited to speak at the Panel Discussion on “Partnering for Progress: Dialogue with the Private Sector on Challenges and Experience in Industrial Development and Trade,” a side-event co-organized by the UNIDO and the Government of Germany. The Panel was attended by H.E. Johann Saathoff, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and Head of the German Delegation to the General Conference, alongside the UNIDO Senior Representative, Chambers of Commerce, and prominent private-sector leaders from across the region.
The Dialogue allowed speakers and the audience to exchange experiences and discuss key challenges, including emerging opportunities in industrial development and trade. Dr. SOK highlighted Cambodia’s post-conflict economic growth through capacity building, tripartite partnerships between government, industry, and academia, and value-added processing to boost export revenues. He also emphasized addressing skills gaps, improving industry knowledge, and the need for independent monitoring to stabilize and modernize industries for sustainable development.
