Mr. NETH Kosalthanan
Member of the Secretariat of the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB) with the rank of Director
Mr. NETH Kosalthanan is currently a dedicated member of the Secretariat for the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB), working under the guidance of H.E. Prof. Bundit Sapheacha and Dr. Sok Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Multilateral Trade and Economic Affairs. In his role, Mr. Kosalthanan supports policy initiatives by engaging with both domestic and international stakeholders and conducting strategic research to strengthen Cambodia’s position in global trade and economic development.
Before joining TPAB, Mr. Kosalthanan demonstrated his leadership and organizational skills as the Head of Production for the Cambodian Student Association in London. In this role, he managed daily operations, led community events, and successfully expanded the association’s membership to over 100 active members, enhancing its cultural influence and providing strong support for Cambodian students across the UK.
From 2021 to 2024, Mr. Kosalthanan served as the Personal Assistant to the Chairwoman of the 9th Commission of Cambodia’s National Assembly. His responsibilities included preparing legislative research, drafting policy briefs, and facilitating strategic decision-making for the Chairwoman. His contributions were instrumental in the 2023 legislative process for the ASEAN Trade in Services Agreement draft law, where he coordinated closely with key stakeholders to ensure thorough analysis and compliance with ASEAN standards.
Mr. Kosalthanan’s diverse experience also extends to the private sector, with professional exposure across various industries and regions. In Cambodia, he interned with Khmer Beverages, where he contributed to digital marketing campaigns that enhanced the brand’s market competitiveness. In London, he gained valuable financial expertise as an intern in Citigroup’s Investment Banking Division, where he performed detailed market analysis and supported financial modeling for M&A deals, deepening his understanding of corporate finance and investment strategies.
Academically, Mr. Kosalthanan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Management from the University of Westminster and a Master’s degree in Economic Policy from SOAS University of London. His academic work reflects his strong interest in international trade, with his master’s thesis focusing on the effects of the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement on Cambodia’s export dynamics. Utilizing panel data regression, his research uncovered key insights and provided data-driven recommendations to enhance Cambodia’s export competitiveness within ASEAN, showcasing his commitment to evidence-based policy development.
