Mr. NETH Kosalthanan
Member of the Secretariat of the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB) with the rank of Director
Mr. NETH Kosalthanan is currently a dedicated member of the Secretariat for the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB), where he works under the guidance of H.E. Prof. Bundit Sapheacha and Dr. Sok Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Multilateral Trade and Economic Affairs. In this role, he supports policy initiatives, engages with both domestic and international stakeholders, and conducts strategic research to strengthen Cambodia’s position in global trade and economic development.
Mr. Kosalthanan holds a Master’s degree in Economic Policy from SOAS University of London and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Management from the University of Westminster. His academic work focused on international trade; his master’s thesis examined the effects of the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement on Cambodia’s export dynamics, utilizing panel data regression to generate data-driven policy recommendations. He also serves as a Research Fellow at the ASEAN-China Studies Center, where he contributes to research on trade, investment, and regional cooperation between ASEAN and China.
Before joining TPAB, Mr. Kosalthanan showcased his leadership and organizational abilities as the Head of Production for the Cambodian Student Association in London. Here, he managed daily operations, spearheaded community events, and successfully expanded membership to over 100 active members, thereby strengthening the association’s cultural influence and enhancing support for Cambodian students across the UK.
From 2021 to 2024, Mr. Kosalthanan served as the Personal Assistant to the Chairwoman of the 9th Commission of Cambodia’s National Assembly. In this capacity, he was responsible for preparing legislative research, drafting policy briefs, and facilitating strategic decision-making for the Chairwoman. His contributions were pivotal in the 2023 legislative process for the ASEAN Trade in Services Agreement draft law, where he coordinated closely with key stakeholders to ensure in-depth analysis and alignment with ASEAN standards. Mr. Kosalthanan’s diverse experience also extends into the private sector, with professional exposure across multiple industries and locations. In Cambodia, he interned with Khmer Beverages, where he led digital marketing campaigns to strengthen the brand’s competitive position in the market. In London, he gained valuable financial expertise as an intern in Citigroup, where he conducted detailed market analysis and assisted in financial modeling for M&A deals, further enriching his understanding of corporate finance and investment strategies.
