On April 29, 2026, the Secretariat of the Trade Policy Advisory Board (TPAB) organized the 7th Session of its Capacity Building Programme, presided over by H.E. NORN Samnangseymony, Head of the TPAB Secretariat and Chief of Cabinet of the Senior Minister. The training, titled “Cambodia’s Tax System,” was led by LCT. BUN Neary, Deputy Director-General of the General Department of Taxation (GDT).
A distinguished figure in Cambodia’s fiscal history, LCT. BUN Neary notably led the negotiations for the historic first Double Taxation Agreement (DTA) with Singapore. Drawing on her extensive experience, she provided officials from the TPAB Secretariat, the Senior Minister’s Cabinet, Legal Reform Committee (LRC) and the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC), with a comprehensive understanding of recent reforms and Cambodia’s fiscal outlook.
This training serves to bridge the gap between tax administration and trade policy, ensuring that the TPAB Secretariat and relevant bodies are well-informed on the fiscal standards necessary to support Cambodia’s economic objectives.
